Impact Of Domestic Violence On Children

In this fast paced world that we live in today, domestic violence can be said to be on the increase as so many stressors now play a part in our day-to-day living. Many couples now find themselves going through work related stress, inability to find/maintain jobs owing to the recessions to mention but a few.

While this might be the case, so many couples tend to forget where to draw the line and instead prefer to vent out their frustration on their partners and occasionally abusing their children as well. Though men are occasionally abused, women especially pregnant ones are more on the receiving end. Abusive parents often times tend to forget that they have children around who constantly look up to them for guidance and direction and as such this behaviour impacts very negatively and significantly on them, both on short and long-term basis.

Some of the negative impacts on children include:

  • Loss of self confidence
  • Fear
  • Lack of concentration in school
  • Inability to maintain relationships as they are forced to believe that there can never be a decent relationship
  • Running away from homes as they might believe they are the cause of the problem
  • Alcohol abuse and other social vices
  • Lack of respect for the abused parent
  • If you want your kids to live decent lives, always consider the impact of your behaviour on them

  5. Everything published was actually very logical.
However, what about this? suppose you composed a catchier title?
I ain't suggesting your information is not good, but suppose you added a post title to maybe get folk's
attention? I mean "Impact Of Domestic Violence On Children"
is a little boring. You could look at Yahoo's home page and watch how they create news headlines to grab people to open the links. You might add a video or a picture or two to get readers interested about everything've got to say.
In my opinion, it might bring your website a little livelier.
